The plans were listed onto an Access database which recorded the following information where available.

Plan Number (number given to the plan by the Council)

Description

Building Type (as defined by the Royal Institute of British Architects)

House Number (many houses do not have house numbers, and in some cases original numbers were later changed)

Road (the names of some roads in Cardiff changed. Some areas of the city have disappeared altogether. Some planning applications were speculative for properties on roads that did not exist even at the time of the application.)

Architect/Surveyor

Developer/Client

Date (date the plan was approved or disapproved by the Planning Committee)

Condition Assessment (based on the National Preservation Office’s Preservation Needs Assessment Survey)

This database has been made available on the Glamorgan Record Office website and can be searched by Plan number, description, building type, road, architect, developer and date.
